D3 has launched Domain Asset Vehicles (DAVs), a product that turns institutional domain portfolios into a single tokenized asset tradeable onchain. The announcement came today at the company’s Dominion 2026 conference in Las Vegas. D3 also unveiled a new tool at the event to improve how AI agents discover domains.
Unlocking liquidity in a $360 billion asset class
Domain names form an estimated $360 billion asset class, but the market has almost no financial infrastructure to support them. Portfolios can sit unchanged for years, with owners unable to access their value without selling domains one at a time. DAVs are built to change that.
The product bundles an entire domain portfolio into a single token on Doma Protocol, a blockchain built for domain tokenization. Investors buy into that token, giving the portfolio owner immediate liquidity. The underlying domains stay listed on existing marketplaces and sell as normal, with proceeds automatically distributed to token holders. Owners keep full control throughout.
“The domain industry has been sitting on a multi-billion-dollar asset class with virtually no financial infrastructure to match its value,” said Fred Hsu, co-founder and CEO of D3. “DAVs give institutional portfolio owners a way to access liquidity at scale without giving up control of the assets that define their business.”
D3 is accepting applications from registrars, domain funds, and large portfolio holders to create and launch their own DAVs. The company calls the broader category DomainFi, a financial layer the domain industry has long lacked.
Doma Protocol’s proven track record
DAVs build on infrastructure Doma Protocol has already proven at scale. The protocol launched mainnet in December 2025. Since then, it has logged over $76 million in trading volume across more than 10 million transactions. It now has 46,000 unique wallets and more than 425 premium fractional domain launches across Web3 ecosystems including Solana, Base, and Avalanche.
All domains on Doma remain DNS-compliant after tokenization. That means they still function as normal internet domains and sell on traditional marketplaces. They also exist as tradeable DeFi assets. D3 is backed by Paradigm, with experience across domain extensions including .xyz, .tv, and .link.
A new category for the agentic web
D3 also announced the Doma Agentic Engine. The tool gives domain owners a real-time score of how AI agents perceive their domains. It surfaces content gaps, missing protocol endpoints, and lost discoverability opportunities. Built-in remediation tools let owners go from undiscoverable to agent-ready in minutes.
“Agent discovery optimization will be to the agentic internet what search engine optimization was to Google,” said Inder Singh, vice president of product and technology at D3. The company is calling this new discipline ADO. ADO targets domain owners who want to stay visible as AI agents increasingly handle web discovery.
Both DAVs and the Doma Agentic Engine are set to go live in Q2 2026.
