Bybit EU has become the recommended landing place for Dutch MEXC users who need a MiCAR-authorised route after MEXC’s Netherlands exit. The deal is easy to read as a partner handoff, but the bigger story is more useful: Dutch crypto access is moving from offshore availability to authorised European rails, and users who wait until the final deadline may be forced into rushed account checks, asset decisions and record keeping.

Why this is more than a referral link
Bybit EU and MEXC announced that Netherlands-based MEXC users will be guided toward Bybit EU as MEXC winds down Dutch service. Bybit EU says it is headquartered in Vienna and operates under a MiCAR licence granted by Austria’s Financial Market Authority. MEXC says the move follows the implementation of the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation, which requires crypto-asset service providers operating in the EU to hold appropriate authorisation.
The practical detail matters. Users who choose Bybit EU do not get an automatic migration. They need to create a new account, complete verification and decide what to do with every asset themselves. The announcement encourages users to finish that work by October 31, 2026, with final offboarding from MEXC set for November 16, 2026.
That creates a different kind of urgency from the usual exchange campaign. The risk is not missing a bonus. The risk is reaching the deadline with an unverified account, unsupported assets, incomplete transaction records or a transfer path that has not been tested.
The MiCAR shift is now visible for Dutch users
For years, many European crypto users treated exchange access as a product question: which venue has the deepest markets, the newest tokens or the lowest fees. MiCAR adds a more basic filter. Which legal entity is serving you, under which authorisation, and for which services?
The Dutch context makes that filter sharper. The AFM says crypto-asset service providers need a licence from the AFM or a notification through another European supervisory authority before offering services. Its register guidance also notes that the Dutch transitional regime for previously DNB-registered providers ended on June 30, 2025. ESMA’s MiCA materials make the same distinction at EU level: grandfathered firms are not authorised CASPs until authorisation is granted, and transitional access cannot run indefinitely.
That is why this handoff is a signal beyond MEXC and Bybit. The post-transition market favours providers that can show which European entity is responsible, what services it may offer, how client assets are handled and which local payment rails are available. Bybit EU is presenting itself as that regulated home for Dutch users who still want active exchange access after MEXC leaves.
What Bybit EU is putting on the table
Bybit EU says its Dutch-facing package combines regulatory status with local usability: Dutch-language access, EUR deposits and withdrawals through SEPA and iDEAL, 115+ tokens, 135 trading pairs in USDC and EUR, segregated user funds, customer support and a dedicated transition page for MEXC users. The company is also offering eligible new registrants a welcome package with rewards, preferential fees and card cashback, subject to the stated terms.
Those features are commercially useful, but they should be read with precision. A large token count does not mean every MEXC position has a matching market. EUR and USDC pairs do not remove price, liquidity or tax-record risk. A welcome package is not compensation for a bad transfer decision. The value is strongest if users use the window to plan instead of waiting for the offboarding date.
The checklist Dutch MEXC users should run now
First, export account history from MEXC before doing anything else. That includes deposits, withdrawals, spot trades, conversions, staking or earn activity where relevant, and fee records. Dutch tax and portfolio records are much easier to fix before an account is restricted or closed.
Second, compare assets one by one. Check whether the asset is supported on Bybit EU, which network deposits are available, whether the relevant pair is in EUR, USDC or another route, and whether liquidity is sufficient for the size of the position. If an asset is not supported, users need a separate plan before the deadline.
Third, complete verification early. KYC queues tend to feel invisible until everyone needs them at once. Users who wait until late October or November may leave themselves less room to resolve document issues, address mismatch problems or speak with support.
Fourth, test the rails before transferring size. A small deposit or withdrawal can confirm the address, network, exchange-side processing and bank rail. That is mundane work, but it is exactly the kind of work that prevents deadline mistakes.
Finally, treat the transition page and official community links as starting points, not shortcuts. Phishing risk increases around exchange migrations because users expect unusual account messages. Follow official links from the exchange, verify domains, and be skeptical of anyone offering to move assets on your behalf.
Bottom line
The Bybit EU-MEXC arrangement gives Dutch users a clearer authorised route than a last-minute scramble. It also shows where the European market is heading: access will increasingly depend on regulated entities, passported permissions, local payment rails and transparent custody obligations.
For Dutch MEXC users, the best move is not panic. It is to use the time between now and October 31 to verify an account, map assets, protect records and test transfers. The users who do that early will have more choice than those who discover the details in mid-November.
