The Ripple acquisition stack is now a market story, not only a company profile. A fresh crypto.news audit argues that Ripple spent about $4 billion on custody, prime brokerage, treasury software and stablecoin payments. Live data adds the pressure point: XRP trades near $1.0989, while RLUSD supply stands near $1.59 billion. For U.S. readers, the question is whether regulated rails around RLUSD create token demand, or simply make Ripple less dependent on XRP.
What you need to know
1crypto.news published the Ripple acquisition audit on July 25, 2026 at 18:26 UTC.
2Ripple's disclosed deals include Hidden Road, Rail, GTreasury and Palisade.
3RLUSD supply is about $1.59 billion, according to DefiLlama.
4XRP open interest on Binance futures is about $367.9 million.

Market context at 02:07 CEST. XRP traded at $1.0989 on Binance, between $1.0855 and $1.1080 over 24 hours. Spot quote volume was $30.2 million dollar. Binance futures open interest was 335.0 million XRP, worth about $367.9 million. The latest funding rate was -0.0015 percent. Sources: Binance, CoinGecko and DefiLlama.

Ripple acquisition stack changes the XRP question

The crypto.news audit pulls together a point XRP holders often miss. Ripple has been buying regulated financial infrastructure, not only crypto distribution. The deal list starts with custody and ends with payment and treasury rails.

Ripple said it would buy Hidden Road for $1.25 billion in April 2025. That brought prime brokerage, clearing and institutional client flow. The later Rail and GTreasury deals moved the center of gravity toward stablecoin settlement and corporate cash.

That is why this story matters beyond XRP price chatter. A company can make money from custody, collateral and treasury software without every flow touching XRP. The token can still benefit, but the path is less automatic than many holders assume.

RLUSD rails now carry the cleaner business logic

Ripple’s recent releases make the stablecoin emphasis clear. The company described Rail as stablecoin payment infrastructure. It framed GTreasury as corporate treasury access. It later pointed to Ripple Prime revenue growth after the Hidden Road deal.

DefiLlama shows RLUSD circulation near $1.59 billion. That is up 3.8 percent from a week earlier. About $895 million sits on XRPL, compared with $695 million on Ethereum. That makes XRPL the larger RLUSD venue by supply.

CryptoFocus’ own comparison is blunt. RLUSD supply equals 52.7 times Binance’s 24-hour XRPUSDT spot quote volume. That gap is the point. Ripple’s stablecoin rails now outrank one exchange’s daily XRP turnover.

Why XRP holders should care anyway

XRP is still a top-10 asset by market value. CoinGecko placed it sixth at about $68.7 billion. The live move was modest, with XRP up 0.5 percent over 24 hours.

The better question is value capture. If Ripple Prime, custody and treasury clients mostly use RLUSD, then XRP’s role depends on disclosed settlement volume. If those rails later route tokenized assets through XRPL, the story changes. Until then, the market has to separate company progress from token demand.

That distinction also matters for U.S. traders after a month of policy headlines. The Robinhood prediction-market race showed how quickly regulated venues chase new product lines. Recent Ethereum ETF flow also showed how investors separate infrastructure demand from token price. Ripple is trying a slower path: own the plumbing first, then decide where the flow settles.

What U.S. readers can watch next

The next useful disclosure is not another acquisition headline. It is a number. Ripple Prime said revenue more than tripled in a May debt-facility release. Investors need the split between traditional clearing, digital assets and RLUSD collateral.

Custody is the second datapoint. Ripple bought Palisade for custody, after buying Metaco and Standard Custody earlier. If custody clients hold XRP or tokenized assets on XRPL, that would make the company-token link stronger.

The live market is not giving that answer yet. XRP funding is slightly negative. Open interest is large, but not explosive. Spot turnover still trails RLUSD supply by a wide margin. For context, CryptoFocus saw the same plumbing-first question in USDC wallet distribution. The next real test is whether Ripple reports material XRP settlement flow through Prime, treasury or custody rails.

2Original calculation: RLUSD supply is 52.7 times Binance XRP spot turnover.
