Digital Prime Technologies says its Tokenet marketplace now has launch partners bringing more than $1 billion in institutional digital asset lending inventory and more than $1 billion in borrowing demand. The July 29 PRNewswire release matters because it shows digital asset lending trying to borrow operating patterns from securities finance, with EquiLend and a group of trading, brokerage and market-making firms around the same venue.

The CryptoFocus read is straightforward: this is not retail crypto yield marketing. It is a market-structure story about how institutions want to source liquidity, lend inventory and manage tokenized asset exposure through workflows that look closer to traditional securities lending. The test is whether Tokenet can turn named launch-partner interest into active, transparent and risk-managed lending activity across regions.

Item|Detail
1Institutional inventory|Digital Prime Technologies says Tokenet launch partners bring more than $1 billion in digital asset inventory.|||Borrowing demand|The company also points to more than $1 billion in institutional borrowing demand.|||Marketplace|Tokenet is positioned as a venue for borrowing and lending digital and tokenized assets.|||Named partners|The release names Galaxy Digital, Marex, LTP, Flow Traders, Clear Street, EDX Markets, Ripple Prime, QCP, GSR and StoneX Digital.|||TradFi link|EquiLend is the strategic partner, bringing securities-finance infrastructure experience.|||Geographic scope|Digital Prime says Tokenet is designed for activity across North America, Europe and Asia.

Why institutional digital asset lending is becoming a market-structure issue

Digital asset lending has always been one of crypto’s more sensitive market functions. It can improve liquidity and capital efficiency, but it can also concentrate counterparty, collateral and rehypothecation risk when activity remains bilateral and opaque. That is why the structure of the venue matters as much as the headline demand figure.

Tokenet is trying to solve that problem by giving institutions a single place to source borrow-and-lend liquidity, manage inventory and negotiate digital asset loans. Digital Prime’s own product page describes Tokenet as an institutional platform for borrowing and lending digital assets with real-time rate discovery, proprietary data and analytics, and enterprise-grade technology.

The EquiLend angle gives the announcement extra weight. EquiLend says its technology powers the securities-finance transaction lifecycle, including trading, post-trade, RegTech, data and distributed-ledger infrastructure. If Tokenet can adapt familiar securities-lending controls to crypto collateral and tokenized assets, the result would be more meaningful than another exchange product launch.

The institutional partner list is the main signal

The launch partners includeĀ Galaxy Digital,Ā Marex,Ā LTP,Ā Flow Traders,Ā Clear Street,Ā EDX Markets,Ā Ripple Prime,Ā QCP,Ā GSR,Ā andĀ StoneX Digital.Ā These organizations have joined Digital Prime Technologies through strategic investments, advisory board participation, and long-term collaboration to help shape the future of institutional digital asset lending.

Digital Prime says the partner group has joined through strategic investments, advisory-board participation and long-term collaboration. CryptoFocus will treat the $1 billion-plus inventory and demand figures as company-provided indicators, not audited market volume. The next proof point is whether those commitments become real loan activity, repeat usage and visible liquidity under stress.

The announcement also fits a broader tokenized-market pattern CryptoFocus has been following. Recent institutional tokenization stories, including M1X’s tokenized-collateral sandbox and Ondo’s tokenized-market strategy, point to the same question: can digital asset infrastructure become boring enough for institutions to use repeatedly?

What still needs proof

The strongest caveat is that partner interest is not the same thing as durable market depth. A lending marketplace needs active participants, clear collateral standards, reliable settlement, strong operational controls and a risk framework that survives volatile markets. The release does not yet provide loan volume, utilization, collateral composition, default procedures or fee transparency.

Regulatory treatment also matters. Digital Prime says it is built on TradFi principles and practices core to U.S. regulated securities markets, while EquiLend operates across multiple jurisdictions. That helps the credibility of the story, but it does not remove the need for region-by-region clarity when digital and tokenized assets are borrowed, lent or used as collateral.

For CryptoFocus readers in Europe, the useful question is not whether institutional crypto lending is returning. It is whether the next version is more transparent, more controlled and more connected to regulated market infrastructure than the lending models that previously failed during crypto credit cycles.

What to watch next

Signal|Why it matters
1Actual loan volume|Confirms whether the partner inventory and demand translate into live marketplace activity.|||Collateral standards|Shows whether Tokenet is managing risk like institutional finance or relying on crypto-native assumptions.|||Regional participation|Europe, North America and Asia will not have identical regulatory or counterparty requirements.|||Tokenized asset scope|The mix between crypto assets and tokenized traditional assets will define the market opportunity.|||Post-trade controls|Settlement, reconciliation, lifecycle events and reporting will decide whether institutions trust the venue.|||Partner expansion|More brokers, market makers and custodians would strengthen the network effect.

FAQ

What did Digital Prime Technologies announce?

Digital Prime Technologies announced that its Tokenet institutional digital asset financing marketplace has expanded its launch partner community, with more than $1 billion in lending inventory and more than $1 billion in borrowing demand cited by the company.

What is Tokenet?

Tokenet is Digital Prime Technologies’ institutional platform for borrowing and lending digital assets. The company positions it as a marketplace for real-time liquidity, rate discovery, data and lending workflows.

Why is EquiLend relevant?

EquiLend is relevant because it provides established securities-finance technology. Digital Prime is using that relationship to connect digital asset lending with operating patterns that institutions already know from traditional markets.

Is this the same as retail crypto lending?

No. The release is aimed at institutional lending, market makers, brokers and capital-markets firms. That makes the story more about market infrastructure than retail yield products.

What is the main risk?

The main risk is that headline partner commitments do not automatically prove active liquidity, collateral discipline or stress-tested operations. Loan volume, utilization, collateral rules and post-trade controls still need to be demonstrated.

Source note

This article is based on Digital Prime Technologies’ July 29, 2026 PRNewswire release, the Digital Prime Technologies homepage, the Tokenet product page and EquiLend’s public securities-finance materials. The $1 billion-plus inventory and demand figures are company-provided claims from the release. CryptoFocus analysis focuses on the market-structure implications and the proof points still needed for institutional adoption.
