Strive Bitcoin treasury disclosure looks stronger at first glance, because the company crossed 20,000 BTC. The shareholder math is less clean. Its July 27 SEC filing shows 79 new BTC and 430,000 more effective common shares over the same week. That means Bitcoin per effective share fell from about 23,809 to 23,781 satoshis. For U.S. overnight readers, the point is sharper than a bigger coin pile. Bitcoin treasury stocks still need to improve ownership per share.
Wat je moet weten
1Strive reported 20,000 BTC after buying 79 BTC during the July 20 to July 24 week.
2Effective common shares rose by 430,000 over the same filing period.
3Bitcoin per effective share fell by roughly 0.12%, despite the larger BTC balance.
4The filing does not explain the share increase or fully tie cash movement to the BTC purchase.

Market context at 01.18 CET. Bitcoin traded at $63,902 on Binance. That was 1.30% below its 24-hour high of $64,744.81. It was also 1.00% above the 24-hour low of $63,267.34. Binance spot turnover was $1.10 billion. BTCUSDT futures open interest stood near 103,992 BTC, or about $6.65 billion. CoinGecko global data put total crypto market value near $2.27 trillion. Bitcoin dominance was 56.49%.

Strive Bitcoin treasury passes 20,000 BTC

CryptoSlate reported that Strive reached 20,000 BTC last week. The report was based on the company’s latest filing. Strive bought 79 BTC at an average price of about $65,723. That price included fees and expenses.

The SEC filing shows the balance rising from 19,921 BTC on July 17 to 20,000 BTC on July 24. At the live Binance price used in this run, the full Bitcoin stack was worth about $1.28 billion.

That number is the headline. The ownership test is lower in the filing. A treasury company can own more Bitcoin while each effective common share receives a smaller claim on it.

Per-share math is the real test

Strive’s effective common share count rose from 83,669,973 to 84,099,973. That is a net increase of 430,000 shares.

Using the same filed denominator, BTC per effective common share slipped from about 23,809 satoshis to 23,781 satoshis. The decline is about 27.8 satoshis per share, or 0.12%.

The purchase itself cost about $5.19 million at Strive’s stated average price. Cash and cash equivalents fell by $3.4 million, which leaves about $1.79 million not explained by the cash move alone.

That does not prove dilution funded the purchase. It does show why investors need the per-share denominator beside the treasury headline.

BTC market map adds pressure

The timing matters because Bitcoin is not giving treasury buyers much cushion. Binance data showed BTC inside a narrow 24-hour band, with spot turnover near $1.10 billion.

Futures positioning was much larger. Binance futures data put open interest near $6.65 billion. That was about 6.03 times Binance spot turnover for the same pair.

That gap matters for Bitcoin treasury stocks. When the asset trades sideways, investors often ask a stricter question. How much BTC backs each share?

Why this matters for EU investors

For Dutch and EU investors, Strive is a U.S. equity story with a Bitcoin balance sheet attached. MiCA does not turn that stock into a regulated crypto-asset product in Europe.

The practical question is simpler. A holder buying treasury exposure through a broker takes company, share-count and market-premium risk. Bitcoin price risk is only one layer.

A 1,000 euro position in such a stock can move differently from 1,000 euro in spot Bitcoin. The gap widens when financing changes the BTC-per-share line.

That is why the recent CryptoFocus debt-risk piece and Bitcoin treasury top 10 overview matter here. The sector is about accumulation and how that accumulation is financed.

Next filing is the cleaner signal

The next Strive disclosure should show whether the 430,000-share increase was temporary noise. It may also point to a recurring funding pattern. That is the cleaner signal than the 20,000 BTC milestone alone.

The same test applies across the Bitcoin treasury group. Bigger balances help only when the share count, debt stack and preferred claims do not absorb the benefit first.

What to watch in Strive
1Next filing, whether effective common shares keep rising.
2Funding trail, whether new equity or cash paid for fresh BTC.
3BTC per share, whether the 23,781-satoshi line recovers.
4Bitcoin level, whether $63,267 support holds after the overnight range.
5Treasury premium, whether investors still pay extra for wrapped BTC exposure.
