Phantom has set September 24, 2026 as the cutoff date for Sui support in its wallet. The deadline is not an asset-loss event, but it is an access change: after that date Phantom says users will no longer be able to view, send, swap or interact with Sui assets through the Phantom interface.
What you need to know

1Phantom says Sui support in its wallet ends on September 24, 2026.
2Sui assets remain on-chain and can be accessed through a compatible wallet with the same credentials.
3Phantom says it will not contact users first or ask for a Secret Recovery Phrase or private key.
4Phantom's developer docs tell builders not to start new Sui integrations with Phantom.
The clearest source is Phantom’s own support article on ending Sui support. It says balances, transactions, swaps and Sui app interactions disappear from Phantom after the transition date. It also says assets are not deleted because they remain recorded on the Sui blockchain and are controlled by the user’s recovery phrase or private key, not by Phantom’s interface. Independent coverage from crypto.news also noted that Phantom had not publicly given a technical or commercial reason for withdrawing Sui support.
That distinction matters for users who only need to know whether they must rush into a transaction. Phantom describes two routes. Users who want to keep using Phantom can swap Sui assets to a supported network before the cutoff, with network and exchange fees still applying. Users who want to keep native Sui exposure can move access to another Sui-compatible wallet, such as Slush, and reconnect Sui applications from that wallet after the transition.
The security risk sits in the migration moment. Phantom’s article warns that the company will not message users first, request a Secret Recovery Phrase, request a private key or offer to move assets for them. A recovery phrase should not be typed into a support chat, a social-media link, a random migration form or a site found through an ad. Importing a phrase into another wallet gives that software access to the same funds, so the app source matters as much as the date.
For developers, the cutoff is already visible in Phantom’s developer documentation. The docs say Sui support will be deprecated on September 24 and tell builders not to start new Sui integrations with Phantom. Existing integrations may continue during the transition, but new work should assume Phantom is no longer the wallet route for Sui users.
The practical deadline is therefore narrower than the headline. September 24 is the day Phantom removes Sui from the wallet experience. It is not a deadline for ownership of Sui assets, and it does not automatically convert or move tokens. Users who want to verify balances inside Phantom, swap inside Phantom or test a replacement wallet before the interface disappears should do that before the date arrives.
